Rohstoff Recycling Osnabrück GmbH has been operating a packing press for manufacturing sheet steel packs since the mid 1990s. It was replaced by a new press in 2003.
Sheet steel from the automobile industry and tin packaging materials such as DSD materials (material with the "green point" recycling symbol) serve as primary material.
The objective of pressing these materials, which are often very small and voluminous, is to simplify transport handling and reduce space requirements.
